Exercise 22: Real and implied triangles
Produce two sets of triangular compositions in photographs, one using ´real´triangles, the other making ´implied´triangles
Real triangles
Implied triangles
- Find a subject which is itself triangular (it can be a detail of something larger).
- Make a triangle by perpective, converging towards the top of th frame
- Make a inverted triangle, also by perpective, convering towards the bottom of the frame. You may need to think about this one.
Implied triangles
- Make a still-life arrangement of five or six objects to produce a triangle with the apex at the top
- Make a still-life arrangement as above, but so that the traingle is inverted, with the apex at the bottom.
- Arrange three people in a group picture in such a way that either their faces or the lines of their bodies makes a traingle
REAL
IMPLIED
My feedback
I also enjoyed this excersise and I learned a lot about taking different photographs and place items/people in different places around the frame.
I really enjoyed placing my friends in a triangle and I notice you it effect the photograph a lot on how you place the people. Each photograph of people I took is totally different.
Also for the implied triangles I placed the chairs in a traingle. offically I only needed 6 items but I think this is also a good exsample.
After the exercise I change the phtographs in black and white, see below the traingle lines.
