Exercise 23 Rhythms and patterns
Produce at least two photographs, one should convey rhythm, the other pattern. Remember that in rhythm there needs to be a sequence in the picture, so that the eye will follow a dirction and expericne an optical beat
For the pattern photograph, be careful with the framing. Pay attention to our distance from the subjects and/or your choice of focal lenght, in such a way that you show no boundaries to the pattern. Pattern works strongly when they fill the frame, so that they eye can imagine them continuing well beyond it.
When you have completed the exercise order all the imaginges with a note of waht they represent about the elements of design.
Make sure all your earlier work is probely or orderred. You are building up your own collection of reference matirial against which you can compare your subsequent work. This careful analysis of design may seem cumbersome when you first try it but you will gradually find yourself using it when you approach a new subject.

Rythem
My feedback
As you see above, the building show the rythem very clear, the building show a contiuned line of the same again and again. The 3 smaller pictures above this main photograph also show a sort of rythem. The same item come back and continue in a line.
Rhythm in a picture needs time and the movement of the ey to be appreciated. The dimensions of the frame, therefore, set some limts, so that what can be seen is not much more than a rhythmical phrase. The eye scans it as repetition.

My Feedback
Like rhythm, pattern is buitl on repetition, but unlike rhythm it is associated with area, non dirctions. A pattern does not encourage the eye to move in a particlar way, but rather o roam across the surface of the picture.
The main photograph with the flowers show for me the best the best pattern. You see everywhere the same flower but not as rhythm, all nice in a row so you can follow it with your eye.
Also the other 3 photograph show some sort of pattern, the simular item/product some back and is repeating. The nice, form and high is different but I still see a pattern in it.
